PARKHOTEL HOLZNER

IN SPRING & EARLY SUMMER

Nature awakens and the Holzner opens its doors. Spring and early summer - with the exception of the Easter and Pentecost holidays - are characterised by a desire for nature and outdoor exercise, cultural experiences and deep relaxation at the Holzner.

Join us on refreshing hikes in the awakening nature around the Holzner, take time for yourself during yoga and Pilates, or spend idle hours by the pool and in the Liberty Spa. Simply indulge yourself and find deep relaxation during this soothing time.

April

at the Holzner

Every year, the Holzner opens its doors a week before Easter. During the Easter holidays, the hotel belongs to families, with a great, varied programme awaiting children, and adults enjoying the awakening spring.
Other than that, April is all about culinary delights, relaxation and culture. A special highlight of your April holidays at the Holzner will be the guided hikes with our hiking guide Harry, who will take you exclusively to the most beautiful places on Ritten mountain and throughout South Tyrol, providing insights into the South Tyrolean way of life, architectural and historical attractions. What's particularly nice is that you can enjoy the awakening nature thanks to the countless beautiful hiking opportunities in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and at the same time take the cable car to the city centre of Bolzano in just 12 minutes, where early summer and Mediterranean lifestyle awaits you.

May

at the Holzner

May at the Holzner is peaceful and laid-back until the Pentecost holidays begin. Some of the most loved activities are hiking, relaxing in the spa in timeless tranquillity and enjoying life at its finest. Hiking guide Harald organises regular guided hikes and e-bike tours in May, where you can enjoy special experiences in the magnificent cultural and natural landscape of Ritten mountain. Our tennis courts are particularly busy in May, as the mild temperatures and long days are perfect for a match or two or a lesson with our tennis coach.
With the start of the Pentecost holidays, the time for families at the Holzner begins again. Children's laughter flies through the house and park and you can meet grandparents, parents and children enjoying their time together.

June

at the Holzner

June is probably best-kept secret for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday at the Holzner: summer is already showing its bright side, but the big holiday season has not yet begun, so the house is filled with cheerful tranquillity and early summer charm. Many loyal regular guests who are travelling without children and are looking for peace and quiet outside the holiday season appreciate this and come to the Holzner as part of the regular guest weeks, take part in the regular hikes, relax by the pool and enjoy fine delicacies from our excellent cuisine on the sun terrace. The perfect time for an early summer holiday dedicated to culinary delights, nature and culture.

Our top tips

in spring & early summer

Savour

the spa and pool

Apart from the Easter and Pentecost holidays, spring is usually a time of peace and tranquillity by the pool and in the spa. So it's hardly surprising that many guests prefer to spend their days by the pool with a good book, their gaze constantly wandering to the impressive mountain peaks on the horizon and their mind at rest. Add to this a sauna session or two, a hammam ritual or a relaxing full-body massage in the Liberty Spa, and absolute relaxation for body and soul is guaranteed.

Satisfy your summer longing

in and around Bolzano

While spring awakens timidly at the Holzner on 1,200 metres of altitude, nearby Bolzano boasts an early summer atmosphere. The cable car, which is right next door, takes you to the city centre of the provincial capital in just 12 minutes, where summer-like temperatures often beckon. Take a stroll through the historic arcades, visit one of the many excellent museums, walk along the beautiful promenades in and around the city or simply enjoy a cappuccino on the piazza. The unique location of the Parkhotel pays off, making it a city hotel in the countryside. The cable car right next door

Asparagus season

in South Tyrol

South Tyroleans and their asparagus share a special kind of love. The royal vegetable has been cultivated since the 19th century, especially in the Adige Valley, and as soon as the white tips emerge from the ground in early spring, people all over the country celebrate the start of the asparagus season. The countless traditional ways of preparing asparagus and more innovative interpretations can be tasted everywhere in South Tyrol, including of course at the Holzner or in our award-winning restaurant 1908. Our favourite dish with asparagus? Naturally steamed asparagus with Bolzano sauce, heavenly good!More about the 1908

Tennis has a long tradition at the Holzner. We have had two tennis courts on the east side of the house since 1935, which have been renovated time and again, most recently in 2018, and have been playable all year round ever since. The most tennis is played in spring and autumn. Our tennis courts are particularly well booked then, as the pleasant temperatures are ideal for a match or two or a lesson with our tennis coach.Tennis at the Holzner
