Outdoor
blessings
The Holzner is nestled in its beautiful park in the village of Oberbozen at an altitude of around 1,200 metres. Surrounded by plenty of open space, it rises up on the Ritten high plateau, which has so much to offer: Over 300 kilometres of hiking trails stretch out here, leading past earth pyramids, through forests and up to the Rittner Horn family hiking and skiing area.
At the Holzner itself, we offer the most beautiful outdoor experiences in both winter and summer and an adventurous, active holiday in nature and in the face of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
Tennis with
tradition
Tennis has a long tradition at the Holzner. The tennis courts at the hotel were built in 1935 and international competitions were held on the then new courts from 1936. Since the late 1970s, Holzner guests have always had a professional coach at their disposal.
Our house guests can use the tennis courts with the most beautiful view for miles around free of charge, and high-quality tennis rackets are available for hire on site. Non-guests can use the courts for EUR 15 per hour by reservation.

in the heart of South Tyrol
Over 300 kilometres of hiking trails run along Ritten mountain from the vineyards in the valley to the lofty heights of the Rittner Horn at an altitude of 2,200 metres. At the Holzner, we regularly offer guided hikes to the most beautiful places on Ritten and throughout South Tyrol, a large collection of hiking suggestions or the personal recommendations of our team will help you choose the perfect hike. We also have a boot dryer and carrying rucksacks for babies in our depot, and a hiking rucksack with a refillable Holzner drinking bottle is available for you in your room. Our
hiking tips
Hikes for every tasteVines and even palm trees grow on the valley slopes of the Ritten high plateau, while high alpine conditions prevail at the highest point of the mountain, the Rittner Horn. This leads to an incredible variety of hiking opportunities in a small area and in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. On 300 kilometres of hiking trails on Ritten mountain, you can either enjoy a leisurely stroll, go on easy hikes with children or take on challenging full-day tours.
Pram-friendly varietyThere are also numerous and varied hiking options for families with babies and toddlers. The Holzner has high-quality carrier backpacks for hikes over hill and dale, as well as pushchairs. You can use these on the many pram-friendly hiking and walking trails on Ritten mountain: The Pyramid Trail in Lengmoos, the family circular hiking trail "The Legendary World of Toni" on the Rittner Horn or the Freud Promenade, to name just a few.
Summit ascentAn unforgettable experience for adults and older children alike is a summit ascent, and the possibilities are endless in South Tyrol. We recommend, for example, the ascent to the Weisshorn, which is also easy for children, or a trip to the east of the country, where some of the most beautiful summit hikes in the world await in the Dolomites, from easier variants to via ferratas for experienced hikers.
Biking
South Tyrol’s diverse landscape, the excellent network of bicycle tracks and the widely spread public transport system, make for an ideal biking holiday destination! Italian nostalgia
game for the whole family
Boccia is probably the Italians' favourite leisure game, and with good reason. Alternating concentration and communication are the determining factors in boccia. This makes a game of boccia entertaining, sociable and yet exciting, and therefore great fun for all family members. Balls, a scoreboard and the rules of the game can be found directly on the bocce court itself.UNFORGETTABLE
